This is hands down my favorite IKEA hack so far. I absolutely love this console. I love it so much that I've contemplated bringing it up to the main bedroom, but it looks so good in the basement that I'm leaving it for now.
I wanted to do a rattan console for a while but was wary of cutting into solid wood doors. This project skips the cutting and looks so good you'd never know it is IKEA!
TIP: use your iron on high steam to flatten the rattan and make it easier to work with.
YOU WILL NEED:

1-3 IKEA IVAR cabinets

Wood trim
-
Rattan
-
Wood glue
-
Staple gun
-
Clamps
-
Saw
STEP 1
Build the cabinets according to the instructions but DO NOT attach the doors.
STEP 2
Measure the door fronts and cut the trim at 45-degree angles to build a frame.
STEP 3
Measure the rattan to about 1 cm inside the cabinet face. Cut and staple to the front of the cabinet.
STEP 4
Load the stapler with nails and use wood glue to glue the corners of the frame to each other and the frame to the rattan. Use nails to attach the frame to the door.
STEP 5
Clamp the corners and allow glue to dry.
STEP 6
Attach doors to cabinets according to instructions.
